To say that California is "storm-weary" is an understatement. Multiple systems have slammed the Golden State with the latest lashing the central coast with what would be considered category 3 hurricane-force winds.

Accuweather is reporting that one monitoring station at Hopper Canyon located near San Bernadino recorded a wind speed of 118 miles per hour. According to the Saffir-Simpson Scale, that would qualify the wind as the equivalent of a category 3 hurricane if the wind was sustained. Amazing.

Southern California is not exempt from these storm systems either as the latest road has flooded farms and caused widespread power outages, too.

The New York Times is reporting 2 deaths so far as a result of these storms. If there's a light at the end of the rainbow, it's the fact that the National Weather Service out of Santa Cruz is forecasting dry weather for the next several days which will hopefully allow the flooded communities in California an opportunity to begin recovery efforts.
