The first derecho that many of us in Iowa remember happened 25 years ago today. On June 29, 1998, a derecho developed in eastern Nebraska, and made its way across all of Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana
June 22, 2023, brought some pretty crazy weather just south of the Denver metro area. Golf ball-sized hail piled up along C-470, and several people reported storm damage over the course of the afternoon as a tornado barreled through Highlands Ranch.
Wednesday was a stormy day in Colorado especially in the plains east of Denver. Storms in that area produced something you'll rarely see - twin tornadoes that were spotted churning up a field in Washington County as captured on video by a storm chaser.
Go the beach, they said. It will be relaxing they said. I would hazard to guess that many Louisiana beachgoers who've been to the beaches of the Gulf Coast over the past few days might argue that point. In addition to some pretty gnarly rip currents the area has been besieged, especially along the northern Gulf Coast by strong storms and severe weather.
