The National Hurricane Center are tracking the season's second named storm, Bret.

Go the beach, they said. It will be relaxing they said. I would hazard to guess that many Louisiana beachgoers who've been to the beaches of the Gulf Coast over the past few days might argue that point. In addition to some pretty gnarly rip currents the area has been besieged, especially along the northern Gulf Coast by strong storms and severe weather.

The Atlantic Hurricane Season officially begins on June 1st. Once again it appears as if Mother Nature is ahead of the curve. Just as we've experienced in some of the recent previous seasons there is an area of disturbed weather in the tropics that forecasters with the National Hurricane Center are monitoring for development.
