Watch a Wild Lightning Storm Light up the Austin, Texas Sky

There is nothing quite like a Texas thunderstorm. Don't believe me? You should see how a wild lightning storm lit up the sky over Austin a few days ago as a new video shows.

Randy Winters shared this video taken the night of March 16, 2023 when a thunderstorm made its way over central Texas. He said he experienced this kind of constant lightning for over an hour. He captured several minutes of what happened over his home.

This lightning storm happened to coincide with the 2023 SXSW festival held in Austin. The Austin American-Statesman said that the lightning caused a cancelation of some of the scheduled events. This video from the festival of the storm was also captured in a YouTube short.

CBS News reported that this thunderstorm was one that included multiple tornado warnings in the Austin, Texas area also. The same storm system also is reported to have caused flooding problems in Dallas.

More proof that you never underestimate the power of a Texas thunderstorm. A lightning show like the one over Austin this week is just par for the course.
