A woman in Walker County experienced something that storms produce with regularity.

Lightning strikes.

However, not typically while you are trying to avoid the thunderstorms outside and stay safely tucked away in your own home.

According to WBRC-TV, the Walker County EMA reported that the fire department responded to a call this afternoon, in which a female was struck by lightning while near a window in her house.

It isn't the first time an individual has been struck by lightning indoors. Thankfully, it is pretty rare.

It happened just last month to a man in New Jersey, according to ABC 7 News.

In Walker County, the woman was reportedly awake and talking to emergency personnel. We have not been able to confirm her status or injuries, at this time.
