Friday night was pretty magical. We were watching the news and saw that there would be a chance to see the Northern Lights. Surely, we wouldn't be able to see them from our house because we live in town, and the light pollution would drown them out, right? Wrong! We were stunned to see them from our backyard.
Oklahoma is known for its water-color painted skies with its sunsets. So, us Okies are used to seeing beautiful colors in the sky as the sun is setting, but it's not often that we get hues of yellow, purple and pink in the early hours of the morning.
It's not rare to see the Aurora Borealis especially in Alaska. However, it is quite unusual to see the Northern Lights turn a bright red which is what just happened as shown by a new video share.
