Just imagine the scene at London-Corbin Airport as a tornado ripped through, leaving behind a trail of destruction and disbelief. What a night that was.

It was the summer of 1816 and Indiana technically wasn't even Indiana yet as the area didn't officially become a state until December of that year. The problem was there really was no summer that year.

If it seems like we are hearing about more and more tornadoes in the Midwest each year, that's because we are. This increase in severe weather has led meteorological experts to redefine the area known as Tornado Alley, which continues to grow and is shifting into new areas of the country.

During the historic tornado outbreak on Friday, March 31, 2023, a sheriff's deputy in Indiana suddenly realized he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. His dashcam video captured the moment he found himself inside of an intense tornado that was lashing his windshield with debris.
