I didn’t even know there were tornadoes in New Jersey. Well, you always hear that they are a possibility when bad weather is on the way, but I didn’t think they really ever happened here except for maybe once or twice in my life.

A confirmed tornado struck Williamston and Webberville, Michigan, on Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service.

Yes, it's an obvious fact that storm chasing is dangerous, but it's even more so in the rural areas of Illinois. One storm chaser recently discovered a 'monster lurking in the corn' - a massive EF-2 tornado that he couldn't see initially because a field of corn was blocking his view.

This week we saw an E-3 tornado touch down in New York State and officials around New York State are warning about possible tornadoes this week.

Two tornados did touch down in New York, destroying trees and homes in three different counties.

At any time in Illinois, you might see any number of things cruising down your street. Vehicles obviously, the occasional dog walker, exercise freaks...oh and tornadoes. That's what one family saw zooming down their street recently.

This is one record you never want to hold. A Missouri man was carried over 1,300 feet by a violent tornado, yet lived to tell about it.

It was a stormy day in northern Illinois as there were numerous tornado warnings and reports of storm damage. One video shows a white tornado that touched down in a Chicago suburb and it also sprouted a brilliant rainbow.

Tornadoes no doubt predate what we now refer to as Massachusetts on the North American continent, but the first "whirl-wind," as they were called back in the day, was recorded right here in Massachusetts.
